Blacksmith Shop Museum

This sign is roadside on the Dawes Rd in Dover-Foxcroft, ME; when you see this sign, you'll know you're at the historic Blacksmith Shop Museum. (See below) Rita relaine photo
To the right of the open door, there is an old wheel stone; to the left you will see a stone marker in rememberane of Emma B (see below) I included a fascinating obituary/history of Robert Shapleigh who I understand used this shop to create some of his inventions.

Water was delivered to the farms via log tubing. These are on display at this museum.
Twas hard to keep food cold way back when! Click on the pic for an ice cutting demonstration.
