Cascade Park

Welcome!

Cascade Park  was developed in  1932 on State Street Bangor, ME. That makes this park

88 years old!

Thousands of people have admired this fountain over the years!

There is one thing that makes this place special for me. No, it’s not the many donors, (though what a wonderful donation these businesses made for their community),
My special feeling comes from the plaque (somewhat obscured by shrubbery) that honors the Howard Street Hornets. I always wonder if this neighborhood gang played outdoor games ( hide and go seek, kick the can, etc) as I once did with our street “gang” many years ago. My childhood memories still linger; I never thought I would long for “what was”, but there are moments of the past I would like to pluck out, bring them forward and live them again just  one more time.
And there you have it, well, not quite, there is much more to this park.
Cascading waterfalls!
Socializing on the well-groomed park grounds!
Into the woods!
