The Brewer Riverwalk

I guess it goes without saying that humans crave the beauty of nature to replenish their souls.   So walk, run, jog, or cartwheel along with me beside the tranquil Penobscot River and explore the Brewer Riverwalk.

You can see as we begin our journey along the path that pets are welcome here!   (clean up any you know what they might leave behind)

To get to the Riverwalk, follow me!!

Right away, there is a bench. You know how some benches are so uncomfortable that you just can’t wait to get up?  Not this one! This would be a great place to take in the view of the Bangor Waterfront
Don’t worry, if you find yourself huffing and puffing as you move along, there are many (I didn’t count them) more  benches just like this one along the path

The trash “cans” were designed to coordinate with the benches. Now how cool is that! After all, why shouldn’t smelly, dirty trash go into something classy like that?

                                                                                                   ”                   .           ,

I am not alone on this early  Sunday morning which surprises me.  😊 There seems to be more than a handful of senior citizens, many of whom are walking their dogs.

I love landscaping! I mean, I love looking at great landscaping! So let’s get-a-long down the walk!

We are now approaching the underpass

Looking through the (no not the looking glass), the  underpass.
I can hear the traffic on the Joshua Chamberlain  Bridge above me.

I guess the waterfront experience would not be complete without  a chess board. I can see that the peaceful surroundings make this ideal for deep thought.

This bridge is stunning! Don’t you think?

Oh look! (Remember Dick and Jane) lol Raised flower beds add color to our little hop and a skip down the path

Then I began to think , hmmm maybe I ought to add a raised bed of flowers to my landscape at home. Nope, think I’ll stick with a touch of the wild look.

Wow, nice! Steps lead down to a small beach area below. Kayaks and small sailboats can be seen beached here at times . (not today).

Another view of the steps  and beach area

With the Eagles Nest Restaurant in sight, we have hit the trails end.
Hey, it’s been such fun walking, jogging, and cartwheeling along with all of you, but as always, all things come to an end.  (Don’t pass out yet)!! we’ve got to  turn around and head back!

(Someday, I’ll return and I hope “y’all” do too)!
